Professional Experience
Prior to commencing practice, Femi worked in the Commercial Disputes Group of a major International Law Firm where he dealt with high value complex matters with a multi-jurisdictional element for many corporate client structures. This laid a foundation for handling high value commercial contracts. He was also responsible for writing the firm's Newsletter in the areas of Intellectual Property, Copyright, Defamation and Media law.
Additionally, he has been a legal adviser at Toynbee Hall Legal Advice Centre in the areas of Contract, Employment, Housing, and Immigration Law. He was also a Duty Advocate at Willesden County Court, representing clients in possession proceedings involving disputes between mortgagors and mortgagees, and multifarious disputes between tenants and private and social landlords.
Femi presently has a mixed practice of criminal and civil law, dealing with complex contractual disputes in the latter.
Civil/Commercial
Commercial: Having acquired the experience of working in the Commercial Disputes Group of a major international law firm, Femi advises and deals with complex commercial and contractual matters between individuals and companies.
Criminal
Femi appears in the Crown Court, Magistrates Court and the Court of Appeal. He has an exclusively defence practice spanning the full range of criminal conduct, including Sexual Assault, Grievous Bodily Harm, Identity Fraud, Possession of Drugs, Criminal damage, and various kinds of offences under the Theft Act, such as robbery, burglary and handling stolen goods.
Housing/Landlord and Tenant
Femi has also developed a practice in the area of Housing Law, dealing with repossessions, disrepair, homelessness and general housing disputes.
Employment
Femi gets instructed to appear at Employment Tribunals for both sides in cases involving Unfair Dismissal, Constructive Dismissal, Wrongful Dismissal and Race Discrimination.
